FAQs
- Q?How long after the event do we get to see the photos?
-
A.
The christening has come and gone. You put so much heart into it. Time and money. Its all gone! But no worries, it’s still there in someway . It it my job to save those cherished memories. And oh boy; what a great job did I do! 🙂
I know how excited you are to see the memories of that great day. The little one, the grandparents the entire family, dear ones..
If everything goes right it is TWO WEEKS or less usually.
I usually tend to do the online slideshow (if you have it in your package) much faster.
That being said, kindly consider the work that needs to be put into getting you something nice.
Some of the stuff that goes out to you is done in house, such as personalized products . Technical issues might appear, a cd writer might not work, the printer might malfunction, engraver broke,or even internet service might affect our workflow.
Depending on the season I might have back to back jobs , or some last minute assignments might come up that will delay me and my workflow. (I cover all sorts of events and photo assignments during week days too)
Besides that, there is also the issue of supplies that might slow down the process.
But no worries, you are there on our list and things are being taken care of ASAP. - Q?How many christenings/ baptisms have you shot?
-
A.
As you can see , my presence online is extensive. I have some sample work as slideshows here. You can see what Google has to say about me here.
I can’t put a number on this, I don’t think the number is relevant. However my experience and approach is what should matter the most.
Enough to say that I’m one of your best options out there. - Q?How do you coordinate with my videographer? How do you envision working together?
-
A.
I usually recomend our Inhouse Videographer that I’ve been working with for the past few years already. We are coordinating everything together when covering a job with Photography and video as well. Our artistic vidio merges when you have the final product ,the unity of the work can be noticed and appreciated be it in still or moving images.
On the event that you already chose someone else to to the video part, I quickly introduce myself and observe. Just like me, there’s many types of videographers and I would like to give them their own space.I want to stay out of their way and also make sure I have my own room to do my job.
There’s never really an issue with one another. - Q?Will the photos be retouched and color balanced? Is that done before I see the proofs?
-
A.
In short Yes!
You did see my work previously and you hired me because you liked my photos and my spiritual photo-journalistic style. What you see is what you’ll get.
My photos are candid, personal and intimate.Genuine. The atmosphere is quiet and dramatic, specially the church photos. I usually do some more formal family shots and the reception have a more vibrant and lighter mood.
There’s a lot of sample work here if you want to see.
All the photos you will see will be post processed and I will make sure that the editing brings the best in each photo. - Q?What style(s) do you specialize in?
-
A.
I want to think of myself as a story teller. Your story.
It is a special kind of candid natural photography and I’d like to call it Spiritual Photojournalism.
It involves a religious ceremony, a baby, close family and heartwarming feelings. It involves seeing the fast heart beat of the mother, dad’s feeling of pride, grandma’s cool hairstyle, or the cousin that’s always late.It involves seeing the great vibe that everyone feels, the joy of celebrating the beginning of a new life, a new heartbeat, a new hope. You did see my work previously and you hired me because you liked my photos and my spiritual photo-journalistic style. -
A.
Every event is distinct in it’s own way, and your needs will be different. Child’s age, family size, coverage times, what you need in your package, and other details are just a few.
I want to be fair in my response and kindly ask more about your event before I can offer pricing
I do offer some standard packages however , and can always be sent upon request. - Q?Will our event be interrupted by you being there?
-
A.
I want to pride myself with being as unobtrusive and secluded as possible. All I do is observe quietly. That being said, for me to portray what happened, I do need to move and catch beautiful moments, but I will be considerate about my surroundings at all times. Other than that there is usually a “formal” family portraits time when I do setup shots, no more than 10 minutes as needed.
- Q?Can I give you a specific list of shots we want?
-
A.
Like any of your requests, Yes!
All about me is to put your mind at ease. If a list it’s what it takes, then please send it over.
Some considerations while you do that though.
1- We well be talking on the phone (or meet) and I usually take notes. What is important to you, I will make sure to remember and we’ll coordinate on that day as well.
2- I have been shooting for long now, most of the important steps/ happenings for a christening/baptism, I am expecting even if it’s not on a list.
3- A shooting list would most likely stand in the way of me getting creative. Instead of observing everything around me, I will have to wait for the list moments to happen and miss on other opportunities.
4-One of the reasons you’re paying me is because I “listen” with my camera and I am there for YOU no matter if there’s a list or not. - Q?What information do you need from me before booking my date?
-
A.
Date+ Hours
Locations+ Hours
People involved + # of guests
Other relevant details - Q?How will you (and your assistants) be dressed?
-
A.
Always dress to impress 🙂
Dress code is always Formal. - Q?Is it okay if other people take photos while you’re taking photos?
-
A.
Yes.
If you’re ok with having a photo like here or here, than we’re ok.
If you’re willing to risk me missing some great photo ops because of that, yes.
If you as parents take photos, great, but think again why you hired me. You should really be present in the moment and celebrate it with your little one.
Imagine me taking photos of people taking photos. - Q?What time will you arrive at the site and for how long will you shoot?
-
A.
30-45 minutes prior
Shooting coverage times are as per what we previously agreed upon and are directly affecting pricing. I cover longer->I shoot more -> More prints-> More editing time-> you get it..
That being said, depending on circumstances, I always bend a little if the case.
