Andrew’s Christening. A Snowy adventure.

Baby Andrew’s Baptism was supposed to happen on Saturday January 23, 2016 at exactly 3 Pm. But  a Great Snow Blizzard planned to be in NYC around the same time as well. Conflict of interests. 🙂
Once again, mother nature proves it’s a force not to be reckoned with.
So Saturday morning,a man of my word, I went to my son’s room, sat on his bed and told him some facts.” Son, I have a duty calling on me. You an your mama be brave my little soldier. And don’t forget all I told ya. You’re the mister of the house now, remember this. And when she wakes up in the morning, give your momma a kiss” Then I had to say goodbye 🙂
Getting into the city was everything I expected. Snow, Blizzard, snowy roads, accidents and some more snow. But I made it to my office where I had the option of driving further or taking a subway to the church in Queens.
Hearing from Andrew’s mom, the christening got postponed for the next day. Luckily, I was available and things panned out great.
Being ready for war, I adventured myself into the city with my camera that Saturday and I got some of the most spectacular photos of my life in a deserted  New York City. The feeling was a combination of the movie I am Legend and The Day after Tomorrow.

But moving along to the next day, Sunday, January 24th, things turned around pretty great and the adventure continued. With much white all around, kids hovering over any slopes they could find, and happy faces everywhere.

Getting to the Church in Ridgewood Queens was great and I filled up my personal camera with photos of the  white neighborhoods as I passed through.

Moving forward, the actual christening 🙂

Well, from the start, the entire family was great, and I enjoyed being with them the entire time. Baby Andrew was  in a great mood which resulted in some unforgettable  memories.
The Romanian Church was covered in snow top to bottom, but Fr Ionut Preda made sure to have a ways to get in and make things happen. The Godparents Ileana and Marius were so candid with Andrew and I can see why Vio and Marius (the parents) choose them to be the Spiritual parents of this little great guy.  Days like this make me understand and realize why I love so much what I do.  Meeting great people, excitement, adventure, and getting appreciation for what you do.
Thank you Vio and Marius for letting me be part of your family even if only for a day.
For the rest, I hope you’ll enjoy the photos and the Video slideshow Right Here:
